The consultation has now closed and we will wait and see whether the government takes any of the suggested actions?
On a local level we have now planted our "WI Bee Friendly" garden in the heart of the village with plants that will provide bees with the nectar and pollen they need. Thanks to Jan Gray, Ann Large, Jan Crompton, Marie Bellamy and Margaret Shaw for all efforts to get this started. We enjoyed some extremes of weather whilst preparing and planting! and the buzz of bees already enjoying the plants in that bed, although not as much as a little black furry Wooltonian who was having a wonderful time rolling in the cat mint! Don't feel left out if you wanted to get involved but couldn't make the times there is still much to do in terms of deadheading, weeding and keeping it litter free (all the other good stuff!). Speak to Jan if you would like to help.
